Miki Agrawal + We are Quilt

Last week I had the pleasure of sitting down with Miki Agrawal and the Quilt ladies in her home in Brooklyn where we discussed everything from her career, her companies, future endeavors, hopes, dreams, and last but not least her new book Disrupt Her.

Who is Miki?

Miki Agrawal is a Canadian-born entrepreneur who has started a slew of very successful companies! I’m going to try to condense all her amazing success below.

1. Miki is the Co-Founder / Chief Inventor-er of Thinx: the period-proof underwear company that’s disrupting the $15 billion feminine-hygiene market. Under Miki's leadership, THINX was named Fast Company’s "World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2017" + one of Time Magazine’s 25 Best New Inventions of 2015. In its first giveback partnership, THINX helped over 100,000 girls in Uganda return to school. But that wasn't enough for Miki. So, 2017 marked the launch of the THINX Foundation (thinx.org), which will teach its *very own* newly-piloted health and entrepreneurship curriculum to girls around the world.

2. Miki's newest brand is Tushy which upgrades the American bathroom experience with a modern, best-in-class, affordable bidet attachment. Wiping with toilet paper after you poop is not only ineffective but helps cause health issues like UTIs, hemorrhoids, yeast infections, anal fissures, and anal itching (from wet wipes too!), not to mention kills 15 million trees to make the toilet paper. Toilet paper was introduced to America in the 1800s and Miki and her team agrees that it's time to get our butts into the 21st century. Each purchase helps Samagra combat the global sanitation crisis affecting 40% of the world.

3. Miki loves eating so she founded the acclaimed farm-to-table gluten-free pizza concept Wild. The restaurant rang in its 12-year anniversary in 2017 (ding)! She just opened her fourth location in Guatemala!

Basically…

Miki loves doing. She is also proudly a published author of the book "Do Cool Shit" with her second book "Disrupt Her" now available for purchase (a manifesto for the modern woman), she is an identical twin and Irish triplet; the daughter of a Japanese mom and an Indian dad; an OG French-Canadian; a Wall Street dropout; a former professional soccer player; a Cornell grad... and a proud new mama.
